Current Status of Project:
This week we worked primarily to complete our progress report and progress presentation. All considered options were researched heavily, especially the three types of potential force transducers (stretch transducer, strain gauge, and force sensing transducer). Our final decision is to use the smartphone accelerometer and the force-sensing transducer as our device. We have already confirmed this with Dr. Engsberg.
Work Planned for Next Week:
Next week we plan to begin coding the smartphone app to complete the software side of the project. In parallel, the physical design will be finalized and we will begin searching for the optimal material choice for the prototype.
Anything needed from Client or TA before work can progress:
We are looking for our client’s advice for the hardware components since he is familiar with performing spasticity tests.
